Bhutanese team participates in Indian Independence Day in Assam

A 10-member Bhutanese delegation from Samdrup Jongkhar district has travelled to Assam in India to participate in the 67th Indian Independence Day on 15 August 2013.

The delegation led by Sherub Dorji, sub-divisional officer of Jomotsangkha travelled to Udalguri in Assam for participation. Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district, invited him and his delegation to the show.

On the occasion Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district Malakar felicitated Dorji and his delegation members with Xarai, gamocha and mementoes.

According to news, members of the Bhutanese team performed traditional Bhutanese folk dances, which was appreciated by all.
