Bhutan’s football coach says his team should not be undermined
Bhutan football coach Kazunori Ohara said they haven’t had the best of preparations for the SAFF Championship in Nepal but promised that his side will put their best foot forward in the tournament.
Talking to media in Kathmandu, the Japanese coach said, ”We prepared only for 2 weeks. Most of the players joined directly from club as they were busy in the Kings Cup.”
Ohara acknowledged that they are being termed as the ‘minnows’ of the tournament but backed his side to come up with the goods to ‘surprise’ their opponents.
Bhutan are placed alongside Afghanistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka in group B.
“We are not so strong but I want to surprise other countries participating,” he responded when asked on the chances of his team winning the SAFF Championship.
Bhutanese team had only least chance after the King’s Cup to prepare for this regional game.
