California Bhutanese honour singer Subba amidst a cultural event

The Bhutanese Community in California (BCC) has honoured veteran Bhutanese-Nepali singer Pratab Subba at a cultural function organised on Saturday.

The Chairman of BCC Rajen Giri presented commendation to pioneer Subba for his contribution to Bhutanese Nepali art and music industry.

The function was organised on Saptami – also called Fulpati – the seventh day of the great Hindu festival Dashain.

According to Giri, the program was a great success with huge turnout of community members. The blooming artists of the community show cased their talents and mesmerized the hall-packed audience.

Giri further said, “BCC believes that this kind of program will foster brotherhood, tolerance and inculcate sense of rich cultural heritage especially in the young generation”.

The program was a cross-cultural rendezvous with representatives from different faiths, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and community organisations.

The Bhutanese musicians from New Hampshire, Utah, Arizona, Texas joined the local band to add flavour to the festive mood.
