Fashion, once regarded as the evils of Bhutanese culture, is making gradual influence to new generation of the country.
Sherubtse has become the centre of these changing cultures. Two months after the fashion show, the oldest college of the country hosted a beauty pageant on November 9.
The event was hosted by Go Youth Go (GYG) with the theme “Beauty with Brain”.
The finale was attended by former Home Minister Minjur Dorji.
Kelzang Lham, Dzongkha-Geography third year student was officially declared Miss Sherubtse 2013. She took away the cash prize was Nu.6,000 with crown worth 35,000.
Pema Seldon Tshering, was first runner up and Sonam Deki was second runner up. She also won the award for best traditional dress.
Similarly, Jangchuk Tshomo was best in fancy dress and miss brainy, Sonam Yuden was miss photogenic, Chimi Eden Wangmo was viewer’s choice and miss congeniality and Dechen Cheki won the title of best smile and beautiful eyes.
