Cultural show in Adelaide
Bhutanese in Adelaide staged cultural performances on Saturday as part of celebrating Dashain and Tihar festival and birth anniversary of Nepali poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota.
“The function was organised by Bhutanese Ethnic School (BES) with support from Bhutanese Australian Association of South Australia (BAASA), Yuba Sansar radio program, Seniors Program, Bhutanese Youth Group (BYG), Glowing Youth Club,” principal of Bhutanese Ethnic School Prakash Dhamala told Bhutan News Network.
The event saw an array of cultural Bhutanese-Nepali performances by young and old members of the community including Deusi rhymes. Literary articles recitation was the other attraction of the function.
Held at the Salisbury High School, the event saw an overwhelming attendance of the Bhutanese community members and non-Bhutanese invitees including the State MP of Ramsay Zoe Bettison.
