A Bhutanese to head FAO in Kyrgyz republic

A Bhutanese has been appointed as country representative of the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) for Kyrgyz Republic.

Dr. Dorjee Kinlay is now the new FAO chief in this former soviet union country.

Dr. Kinlay, who holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, had earlier worked with Ministry of Agriculture, Royal Government of Bhutan and World Wildlife Fund. he was the former Honorary Executive Director of the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature in Bhutan. Throughout his career, Kinlay has dealt with issues of policy and practical implementation in food security and agricultural development.

Before joining the Food Agriculture Organisation, Dr. Kinley was the Deputy Secretary of the Planning and Policy Division of the erstwhile Ministry of Agriculture.
