Modi’s BJP winning election is set to form new government

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck has sent congratulatory message to the triumphant of Indian general election Narendra Modi.

Along with Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, King Khesar congratulated Modi for victory whose Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured unprecedented victory in the lower house elections.

“It is with great pleasure that I send my warmest felicitations and Tashi Delek to Your Excellency on your overwhelming electoral victory at the general elections and on your appointment as the Prime Minister of India,” said TObgay adding, “Your assumption of this high office is a clear testimony of the trust and confidence that the people of India have in you.”

BJP alone secured majority in the election and its alliance National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 338 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, Indian media report. The ruling alliance was reduced to 59 with Congress winning just 44 seats, the historic low.

Indian media reported that Congress might not even qualify to have a Leader of the Opposition
