Bhutanese Youth Festival and Interstate Soccer begins in Sydney
The four day Youth Festival and third Bhutanese interstate soccer tournament has begun in Sydney, the biggest Australian city, on Thursday (3 July).
Organised by ABA Sydney, the festival began with colourful cultural performances, a well-organised parade and four soccer matches.Local political leaders witnessed the inaugural of the festival.
The second day of the event will attract youths from other communities as well in various sports events organised with the objective of cementing cultural cohesion in the multicultural Australia, said a member of the organising committee Nanda Bhandari.
President of the Cairns Bhutanese Community Tejman Rayaka, who attended the inaugural event, told Bhutan News Network that he was amazed by the energy, dedication and commitments of Bhutanese in Sydney.
