NDA cadet from Bhutan commits suicide in Pune
A Bhutanese cadet at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla (India) has allegedly committed suicide on Thursday (20 August). The reasons behind the incident were not clear and Warje Police, Pune has started investigating the incident.
The deceased has been identified as cadet Yeshi Dorji. The incident came to light at around 3.10 pm on Thursday. After the incident, police officers from the Warje police station went to the spot and started the inquiry.
NDA officials in a press release said, “The cadet was found hanging with a cord from the ceiling fan in his cabin around 3.10 pm. He was immediately evacuated to the Military Hospital, Khadakwasla, where he was declared brought in dead. An investigation has been ordered to establish the cause of death.”
Police inspector J.V. Koli of Warje police station said, “We were informed about the incident by the concerned authorities. Our team is also conducting the investigation.”
The NDA is situated at the Khadakwasala in Pune, where the cadets of all three armed forces being trained before their pre-commissioning training in their respective service academies for their service. While The academy also trains cadets of some friendly countries.
