Puran in Canada

Srimad Bhagawat Puran has concluded in Winnipeg, Manitoba of Canada on Friday (August 8) at the initiation of Winnipeg Nepali Community.

The community hired Pundit Sitaram Adhikari from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in the US. Adhikari along with two other local priests recited the purans.

The concluding ceremony saw the lightening of 100,000 lights.

Bhutanese and Nepalis living in the Winnipeg and adjacent area attending this Hindi rituals. There are around 700 Bhutanese resettled in Manitoba.

It is the first time Purans were held in Manitoba.
