Bhutanese student commit suicide in India

A Bhutanese student named Dechen (20), a second year nursing student of Indira Nursing College in Mangaluru, India has reportedly committed committed suicide.

Her dead body was recovered from a local paying guest accommodation in which she was living, located behind the city corporation building at Lalbagh area. She hanged herself from a hook at the ceiling of her residence on Thursday (6 November) morning.

Her roommates called the police after finding to their shock that their friend had ended her own life. Reports say she was suffering from bouts of depression of late.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Tilak Chandra, who reached the site, told local media that no suicide note has been found from the scene of the incident. Factors which may have led the girl to take the extreme step are being probed.
