Bhutan to export stones to Bangladesh

Bhutan has agreed to supply stones for construction of the famous Padma Bridge in Bangladesh, Bhutanese envoy to Bangladesh Pema Choden told local media personnels in Madaripur.

She said: “We will supply stones for Padma Bridge in the same manner we did it for constructing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Bridge.”

She added that Bhutan is ready to supply stones for the construction works of major establishments in Bangladesh.

During the recent visit of the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay to Dhaka, the two SAARC neighbours signed deal on land allocation that would see the handing over of a plot in Dhaka Baridhara for the embassy of Bhutan.
