Bhutanese in Australia celebrate cultural diversity

Bhutanese community members in Melbourne, Australia participated in the celebration organised by Bhutanese Community of Australia (BCA) to mark the multicultural diversity week on Sunday.

The function held at Olsen Palace, Broadmeadows Community Hub, Anna Hutchens from Refugee Action Program Victoria, Ajit Singh, Indian Punjaji background from Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre, Mohamed Abdulrahman, president from African Australian Business Association, Yesen, community leader from Erithria African Community and Nanda Kharel from Bhutanese community spoke on need and importance of cultural diversity in Australia.

More than 150 participants from various community come together to celebrate the diversity. They share typical cultural food and drinks.

In another news, Bhutanese community in Cairns participated in the Harmony Day celebration organised by Cairns And Regional Multicultural Association (CARMA). Bhutanese community on the occasion shared cultural food and exchange traditional costumes with members of the Papua New Guinea community.

Similarly, Bhutanese community members in Adelaide participated in the Harmony Day celebration organised by Australian Refugee Association (ARA).
