OBCA to hold fifth convention in June

OBCA logoThe Organisation of Bhutanese Communities in America (OBCA)has announced to hold its Fifth National Convention in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas from June 12 to 14 this year that will elect the new leaders of the organisation.

To spearhead the task of holding this convention, the OBCA has formed a National Convention Organising Committee headed by its Vice-Chairman Hari Upreti.

15 member Programme Organising Committee in the host state (Texas) has also been formed with special input and leadership from Organisation of Bhutanese Society (OBS), Dallas and Beginners Community Support Group (BCSG), Fort Worth.

Prakash Koirala, president of OBS and Nayaran Subedi, president of BCSG have been named the coordinators of the programme organising committee in the host state.

“The National Convention Organising Committee and the Program Organising Committee will jointly reach out to the community organisations and members through various means and media with its program detail and invitation for the convention as early as possible,” a statement issued by the organisation reads.

OBCA has also asked the members of the Bhutanese community to provide us with your innovative ideas and valuable suggestions on how we can conclude this convention with a note of success.
