Royal couple pay tribute to Singapore legend
Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsum Pema have paid tribute to the first prime minister of Singapore on Saturday afternoon.
The first prime minister and the legendary hero who turned poor Singapore into a world’s more successful country, Lee Kuan Yew has been laid at the local parliament house for public to pay their last respect.
Along with other dignified world personalities, the royal couple of Bhutan also travelled to Singapose to pay the last respect.
Lee Kuan Yew had died on March 23 at the age of 91. The funeral of Lee Kuan Yew is scheduled for Sunday where the royal couple are scheduled to take part in.
In a message, King Khesar described Lee Kuan Yew as a stradivarius leader- a leader who has set the bar of excellence, and conveyed condolences and prayers on behalf of the people of Bhutan for the extraordinary and visionary leader.
