SAARC health ministers stress more cooperation
The fifth South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Health Ministers’ meeting concluded in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Wednesday (8 April).
The ministers discussed on key health issues including HIV/AIDS, prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health infrastructure, human resources for health, among others.
The meeting ended with the adoption of Delhi Declaration on Public Health Challenges by the Member States in the Region. The minister’s meeting was preceded by Technical Committee Meeting from 6 to 7 April.
Health Minister Tandin Wangchuk led the Bhutanese delegation to the meeting.
The next 6th SAARC Health Ministers’ meeting will be held in Sri Lanka.
