The National Statistics Bureau of Bhutan has said, the inflation has reached at its lowest point this July, steadily falling from its double digit a few years back.

Country’s consumer inflation reached 3.4 per cent in July. This means price of goods and services increased by only 3.4 per cent compared to a year ago when it increased by an average 8 per cent.

Imported inflation fell by over 2.6 percent between June and July this year. The significant drop in inflation was attributed to decrease in global crude oil prices and improved monsoon in India. Also the stability in Indian economy and continued decreased in India’s inflation also helped Bhutan stabilise its economy.
