Teej celebration in Adelaide
Bhutanese living in South Australia celebrated Nepali festival Teej with festivities and funfair on Sunday, 13 September.
Over five hundred, mostly females, from Bhutanese community attended the celebration organised by Bhutanese Australian Association of South Australia (BAASA).
Many of the guests from wider community invited to join the celebration also attended in traditional Nepali attire and enjoyed the mass dance celebrations that went for hours.
Considering this annual gathering would be larger than any other events, organisers had opted to have a bigger and larger community in Parafield Gardens. Last year’s celebration had been very uncomfortable due to lack of good space.
Besides mass dance celebration, there were performances by young and old on stage. Laxman Gurung’s new video song was also released on the occasion.
