Himalayan Festival US conclude
Third edition of Himalayan Festival USA (HFUSA) concluded its annual mega event in the morning of August 1. Kicked off its opening ceremony with Soccer tournament from July 29 with grand participation of 27 teams from across the United States. Table Tennis tournament was held on July 30, along with other indoor competitions like Himalayan Singing Icon , Himalayan Dancing Icon and exclusive contest Miss Bhutan US 2016 at Crown Plaza Hotel.
On Himalayan Inter-Club Soccer Tournament, Young Guys Classic – Columbus kissed the winning trophy with US$ 2,700 in cash prize beating FC Knight Vision – Cincinnati in final. Cincinnati was awarded with runner up trophy with $ 1,800 in cash prize. Himalayan Dancing Icon won by Shajit Tamang and Himalayan Singing Icon Roshan Adhikari – each awarded with trophy and US$ 500 in cash prize. Senior Singer and Musician Pratap Subba was Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award, Devi Charan Timsina on Lifetime Achievement Award for sports and Phal Rai with Patronage Award of HFUSA. HFUSA also awarded community appreciation award to Bhupati Pradhan and Bishnu Samal.
Miss Bhutan US pageant with very close competition among contestants Bimla Siwakoti from Harrisburg , PA secured the Crown of Miss Bhutan US 2016 along with Miss Personality and Best Skin subtitles followed by first Runner up Sunita Gurung with Miss Photogenic Subtitle from St. Louis Missouri and second Runner up is secured by Sita Rai with Miss Talent Subtitle. Keshari Kharka is awarded with Best Hair Subtitle of Miss Bhutan US Pageant. Winner was awarded with US$ 1200 in cash with gift hampers from Bless Threading and Beauty Spa, California and AAHA production fromTexas. First Runner up received US$ 800 in cash with gift hamper and second Runner up received US$ 500 with gift hamper.
Narayan Pradhan from Bhutanese Community of Cleveland coordinated the event. Ran Magar coordinated photography and videography, Mitra Ghale and Raja Pradhan for soccer, Jagdish Bhusal for TT, Rajman Magar for Finance and accounting. Rajen Giri, Chairman of Himalayan Festival headed the coordinators to execute the event.
Festival was concluded with grand success and huge turnout of over two thousands audience in two days. Priyanka Karki, Aastha Raut, Kali Prasad Baskota, Nalina Chitrakar performed in celebrities sequence at the event.
