Don’t organise public gathering, ECB notifies
Election Commission of Bhutan has issued a public notice stating that general public must not organise any form of religious or other events during the election period.
The commission advised the public to avoid such events to ensure the smooth, free and fair election.
‘In this regard, all government agencies, autonomous bodies, corporations, private offices, religious organisations and general public are being advised well ahead of the time so that any such programs and activities involving public gathering can ben planned, avoiding the periods of February to May and August to October 2018”, the notice reads.
The commission is likely to hold election of the National Council in May and National Assembly in September-October.
