Sachin in Bhutan to teach Handwash
Indian Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has visited Bhutan as part of the UNICEF’s Handwash initiative. He is accompanied by his wife Anjali.
Tendulkar has been working as UNICEF ambassador for South Asia since 2013. His role as ambassador is to promote hygiene and sanitation among communities in the region.
During his visit, he also met with Chief Advisor of the Bhutan government Tshering Wangchuk and held interaction with country’s cricket team. He visited several local schools, engaged children in sports and hygiene activities.
He twitted, “Had a great time playing football with these cute little kids in Bhutan. After the game, we washed our hands with soap to demonstrate that playing is important but what’s even more important is to wash our hands after any activity, especially before eating food.”
