Adelaide Bhutanese elect new leadership
The Bhutanese community in South Australia has elected new leadership of the Bhutanese Australian Association of South Australia (BAASA) for the term 2020-22.
At the Annual General Meeting held in Salisbury on Sunday (December 22), Lal Rai has been elected as new chairperson of BAASA. Rai had earlier worked as vice chairperson of the organisation.
Similarly, Mohan Bhattarai has been elected as the vice chairperson of the association. He had earlier served as volunteer coordinator for several years.
Kamal Dahal has been elected as secretary, Kusum Chapagain as Treasurer and Mohan Hangkhim as Public Officer.
The outgoing chairperson Sushil Niroula expressed gratitude for support he received from individuals and team members during his term as chairperson and wished the new leadership for fruitful tenure.
The AGM also endorsed the annual and financial report of the association. Established in 2009, BAASA’s executives are elected every two years.
