ABA-Sydney elects new leadership
Bhutanese community in Sydney, Australia elected a new leadership of their community organisation Association of Bhutanese in Australia (ABA).
The annual community gathering on Sunday (18 January 2020), elected Padam Kafley as the new president of the association.
Indira Dhungel has been elected as the new General Secretary – first female to hold the position association. Similarly, Yadav Timisina is new Public Relations Officer and Nagendra Bhattarai as new treasure.
Indira Kafley is new women coordinator while Champa Rai Adhikari, Gauri Bhandari and Dilip Poudel are executive members.
The new leadership takes over the reign for next two years.
Election committee Devendra Gautam, Bishnu Dhungyel, Ram Khatiwada and DIpak Sharma had earlier asked community members to nominate for the leadership.
ABA-Sydney was established on 26 August 2007 with just four family members.
