DNC marks foundation day
Members of Druk National Congress celebrated the party’s 26th foundation day in a silent ceremony in Kathmandu on 16 June. The party was established under the leadership of Late R K Dorji in 1994 with the aim to spearhead democratic movement in Bhutan.
While marking the silent celebration, current party president Gedun Choephel remarked “In the time of the coronavirus pandemic, I prayed that all Bhutanese comes out unscratched out of this.”
He further commended the efforts of Bhutanese leadership in handling the coronavirus pandemic. He said, “We are waiting and hoping that the regime will show wisdom and leadership in holding dialogue with DNC in future to resolve outstanding political issues.”
