LCOB conference underway in Ohio, US

The first Nepali-literature conference of the Bhutanese diaspora, organised by Literature Council of Bhutan, is underway in Cincinnati, Ohio (US) from Saturday. The two-day conference will see array of literary publications and music albums release.

In addition, the council is slated to discuss and debate the future course of action and plans for the council aimed towards encouraging new talents in Nepali literature, promote Nepali literature in diaspora and widen the market of the Bhutanese Nepali literature.

The toughest job of the council would be, in taken seriously and shouldered the responsibility, is the ensure Nepali language and literature remains alive and vibrant among the new generation of the Bhutanese children in diaspora.

The council has not announced if it holds election to elect new leaders. It hasn’t yet proposed its draft of the future programs to be approved by the gathering.

The conference ends on Sunday.
